This year, we're celebrating 70 years in business with a look at the introductory letter sent out to the area and some old photos. What started in the family garage and basement expanded with a couple of location changes while staying in the family. Currently, we're on our 3rd generation. We could say we're in our 4th generation if we consider our great-grandfather, also in the sign trade, though not with the family business. It's been a great run working with many fantastic customers within a large variety of businesses, both large and small. We're looking forward to continuing into the future. Thank you to all the customers we've worked with over the many years.

Tried a different vinyl for this wall print. This is a type that is easy to apply and comes off very clean for short term applications. In this case we printed and cut the shapes, applied transfer mask and our customer applied it to the wall themselves. It was very easy for them to do this. This product is very similar to what you may see used for your favorite athlete that you can placed on your wall.

It's fun looking back at some of the odd projects we have worked on. Here's an odd vinyl-decorated sign we did back in early 2000. The image began as a pencil sketch on a paper napkin, then was blown up on a copy machine and hand-digitized. The 15'' Gerber/3M 220 colored vinyl was tiled as needed. The 4'x8' pieces of steel blue painted steel siding material were provided to us bent, and we carefully applied the vinyl so the image transitioned while driving past on a local freeway. I've included a photo pulled from Google a few years ago, showing how well this vinyl has held up for more than 20 years on the West-facing wall of this building. The overall size is roughly 8' tall by 65' long. This would have been so much easier with today's software, equipment and material sizes.
Zooming in on the Google image you can see a little lifting on on some edges along with fading of both the steel paint finish and vinyl. Overall I think this has lasted much longer than what we would expect and show how good some of our material manufacturers produce their products.

Continuing the sharing of old signs made. With 3M headquartered in the area we may have been exposed to the use of reflective materials earlier. I wish I knew more of how we began using them. I can remember seeing cans of reflective material stored with screening inks.

A variety of cedar and redwood signs were made. We made one for the local supplier we used for the redwood, along with a group of signs for the State of Minnesota. These info stop signs were installed at highway rest areas around the state.
