Today Matt, Payne and Bob delivered a couple hundred cans of food donated by our associates to those most in need this holiday season. Catholic Charities Medina has a no questions asked food shelf for anyone who may be “food insecure”. Keep up the great work Catholic Charities Medina County!

Children of Nordic Company Associates who are graduating this spring (2025) or have graduated in 2023 or 2024 from high school are eligible to apply. Our team here at Flambeau Sharon Center collected personal care items for a project partnering with our sister plant in Middlefield, Ohio and Convoy of Hope. We are donating Flambeau-brand backpacks filled with personal care items for hurricane relief in North Carolina.

Our team collected around 1500 items to donate. 600 toothbrushes, 400 combs, 120 washcloths and bars of soap, and various other items including toothpaste, shampoo and winter gloves. Just one way Flambeau supports our community and those in need.

Our shifts competed to see who could collect the most, and our second shift team will get lunch catered in next month in thanks for thier efforts.

Congratulations to Angie Jarvis,
Warehouse and Cycle Counter , our July 2024 employee of the month for the Sharon Center facility.

Angies’s co-workers and supervisors had some of the following things to say about why she deserves this recognition:

Angie saw me struggling to find something in the warehouse. She stopped what she was doing even though I insisted I was OK, I could tell she was busy. She found the item needed and moved it to the correct location. In the midst of all the chaos and bad attitudes she was dealing with she remained calm and positive.

She is always someone who volunteers, has a positive attitude, and strives to do a great job. I cannot think of another person who deserves it more this month.

When you need something done, the first person we go to is Angie. She will always be the first person to help you out in a pinch.

Angie actively fixes issues she finds in the warehouse, whether it be safety concerns or various problems with inventoried items, and is always willing to stay over to take care of any late shipments.

When given a task, Angie will knock it out while consistently maintaining a positive attitude. She genuinely cares about the wellbeing of the people around her, and her quality of work. Angie is sharp as a tack and strives for greatness at all times.

1st shift Process Technician, our June 2024 employee of the month for the Sharon Center facility. Ron’s co-workers and supervisors had some of the following things to say about why he deserves this recognition:

Ron knows what it takes to run this plant. He is a great wingman for our supervisors, giving them practical advice on how to run the shift productively.

Ron knows all the operators and works well with them, helping them to do their jobs better.

Ron can fill in as back-up supervisor when first shift needs him. He is a great trainer, and even when just doing his normal daily duties, always helps others to get better.

Ron comes in early and stays late frequently to cover other shifts processing needs when others take time off. He has also come in to help out or talked through machine issues with the team over the phone when in a pinch.

Ron is not afraid to speak his mind and call out problems when he sees them. He has a passion for the truth. He doesn’t give excuses, he just finds solutions. He holds himself and those around him to a high standard.

Congratulations to Jennifer Thurman,
1st shift Quality Technician, our May 2024 employee of the month for the Sharon Center facility. Jennifer’s co-workers and supervisors had some of the following things to say about his great performance:

- Jennifer lives for quality. She doesn’t allow bad parts or borderline parts pass inspection, and tries to improve our work instructions and processes to produce the best parts possible.

- Jennifer fills in as back-up supervisor whenever first shift needs help. She is a great trainer, and even when just doing her normal daily duties, always helps others to get better.

- Jennifer does root cause analysis on most safety incidents. She makes Sharon Center a safer place by helping to investigate these incidents and collaborating with other associates and our managers to come up with corrective actions.

- Jennifer helps with end of shift dispositions in D-Works. Our material and labor variances have improved dramatically since she began doing it, making us more profitable.

- She cares so much about doing things right and making us better, she so deserves this recognition!

Special thanks to our fellow local business Blooming Acres Inc. here in Wadsworth. Great prices and great personal service!

They helped our team with choosing some great fall plants, pumpkins and gourds to make our facility look beautiful for a few more weeks before winter arrives. Some of our team took few moments away from making plastic parts for our great customers to show off their green thumbs. Not always easy to make a factory look welcoming, but they did a nice job!
