Also of note, corn is 42% emerged in IN and 46% in IL. Soybeans emergence is 42% in IN and 44% in IL.

Here is our weekly look at the local news from the weekly USDA crop progress report.

Frost risk is rising across the corn belt, especially in northern areas, with cooler-than-normal temps. Continued rains in the forecast will likely slow remaining planting progress.

However, rain is expected in Illinois and Indiana this week, which may slow planting efforts.

We’ve officially reached the early plant date for corn and soybeans for the most of my farmers. This means that anything planted from now on will be fully covered for replant. (Unless you purchased supplemental replant - then you could’ve been rolling for weeks now! 👌🏼)

Now we just mother nature to cooperate so we can get these seeds in the soil. ☀️

Planning, catching up, crunching numbers, and helping the best farmers in America mitigate their risk and be as profitable as they can be in these times of very slim margins.
