This week, we spent some time planting seedlings with the entire student body at Pine Ridge Elementary. Our local school property was severely burned in the Creek Fire and most of these kids were impacted by the fire in some form, from evacuations to losing homes.

Over the last few years, many of these kiddos have planted seedlings at their own homes, but it was great to see the whole school come together to plant over 300 Ponderosa Pine seedlings at Pine Ridge!

Moving into the week of Thanksgiving feeling pretty thankful we get to be apart of something good. We wrapped up another successful planting season today.

Over 7,000 seedlings were distributed to over 30 landowners over the weekend(estimated numbers because I'm too tired to get up and go look at the true number 😉)

This morning we got to teach an education station for our local "Science Day," a program that bring schools to the forest to learn about all things forestry.

Also, by we, I mean Juli. Meghan and Annabelle provided ample distraction, but the amount of education we provided was minimal. Annabelle did try her best to explain succession using the pictures that juli used for the previous group of kids, as you can see, she's very thorough.

It's been a long couple of years without science days, but we are excited to be apart of it again and working with great people is the cherry on top!
