Looking for a brilliant podcast to round out your week? Check out this recent episode featuring BPC friend and colleague Joseph Yracheta, alongside WarīNkwī K. Flores and Kelly Dine!

This session comes live from the US Indigenous Data Sovereignty & Governance Summit. It explores how meaning is not something we simply discover, but something we actively make.

For evaluators and researchers, it challenges the assumed "neutrality" of Western science. It is a powerful reminder that data becomes data through relationship, obligation, and use.

It is safe to say a truly wonderful time was had at ! 🥳

We put together a small collection of our favorite moments from the week to share with you all. For our team, this conference is always rooted in community. Connecting with fellow evaluators, welcoming new kin, and sharing space together provides the grounding we need to keep pushing our field toward culturally responsive practices.

📸 Did you take any great photos during the conference? Please share them in the comments below. We would love to see the gathering through your eyes!

Start your Wednesday at with us and fellow colleagues to discuss the real-world application of Indigenous and culturally responsive evaluation methodologies.

▶️ Wednesday, May 27: 8:30–10:00 am
📍 Location: Devonian
🎤 Walking together: Application of Indigenous and culturally responsive evaluation methodologies grounded in the Wolastoq declaration principles

The "why" behind this session is crucial for anyone looking to move from theory into practice. We will share exactly how we are operationalizing the Wolastoq Declaration globally, from the co-creation of the African Indigenous Ethical Protocol to the adaptation of the MINGA methodology in Latin America. It offers a highly practical look at how prioritizing relational accountability and collective well-being actively strengthens evaluation across the world.

Grab your coffee/tea and join us for this powerful conversation! ☕️

It has been a beautiful start to the Canadian Evaluation Society ( ) conference!

During the pre-conference session, we gathered to honor and hold ceremony for our newest Roots & Relations (R&R) kin and editors: Dr. Gladys Rowe (Swampy Cree) and Elliott Young (Cree).

The canoe is a vital part of the R&R journey, an image we created years ago to symbolize how we move this work forward and together.

Everyone is welcome at the R&R lodge! 🛶

This Memorial Day, we honor those who lost their lives fighting for this country. Not forgotten are our Native veterans who served long before they were considered citizens or could legally vote.

We would like to highlight the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian's "Service and Sacrifice: Memorial Day 2026" program. Their event includes a wreath-laying at the National Native American Veterans Memorial and a special tribute to the legacies of Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell (Northern Cheyenne) and Harvey Phillip Pratt (Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma). If you are not in the DC area, you can also experience this event online.

📆 Saturday, May 23, 2026
⏰ 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM ET

For those looking to deepen their remembrance, you can learn more about the event and explore the museum's ongoing work to honor Indigenous service members here:
