There’s just something about sewing holiday jammies that brings back all the feels. 🥹

My grandma had started a tradition when I was little of making Christmas jammies for all of her kids and grandkids. What began as a way to keep a little piece of her tradition alive grew into something I never could have imagined—and every time I sit down to sew a new batch of holiday jammies, I’m reminded of exactly where and when GritNGrace started. 🫶🏼

Now comes the hard part… which of these sets do we need?!

They say, “When you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

But I’m not sure that’s completely true.

Because I truly love what I do—but goodness, it is still work.

It’s late nights sewing after my kids are asleep, early mornings answering messages, hauling racks to markets, taking photos, creating listings, packing orders, and wondering if all the time, money, and heart I’m pouring into this little business will actually pay off.

Loving what you do doesn’t make the work disappear. It just gives the work a purpose.

It makes the long nights worth it. It makes every order feel exciting. It makes seeing one of your babies wearing something I made with my own two hands feel like the biggest accomplishment in the world.

So yes, I work—a lot. But I’m incredibly grateful that I get to work toward something I love, something that is mine, and something I hope my boys will someday look back on and be proud of.

Maybe the saying should be:

“When you love what you do, you’ll still work your butt off—but you’ll know exactly why you’re doing it.” 🫶🏼

Praying you find meaning in your “work” today too🫶🏼
