Come along to perform a macro-infusion (low pressure) trunk injection of thiabendazole for prophylactic treatment of Dutch Elm disease in a healthy American Elm!
Thiabendazole is a fungicide proven to inhibit the establishment of Dutch Elm disease in American Elms, aka Ulmus Americana. We mix 2 ounces of this fungicide with 1 gallon of water and inject 6 gallons of this mixture for each 5 inches of the trunk diameter.
We blend the fungicide and water in the clean barrels and the small pumps on the side of the barrel pumps the mixture through the tubing. It then gets pumped into the injection T’s and into the vascular system of the tree. It is circulated up through the tree with the pull of water transpiring out of the leaves so that all vessels are inoculated with the fungicide- in place to inhibit the growth of the fungal disease from becoming established!
This specific American Elm took 24 gallons of our fungicide/water mix!
Our treatment provides up to 3 years of protection!
