Hello everyone, it's Larry Joe. As I'm sure many of you have noticed, your regular pickup time has been altered the last 3 weeks and may be wondering why. On Apr. 24th I was rushed to Muskegon for emergency surgery for a rupture in my large intestine. I was discharged and came home on May 6th where I am recovering faster than the surgical team expected. We have hired a helper who is helping with routes and shuttles full trucks to the landfill, saving Jeff 2.5 hours so he can continue the routes. Due to the upcoming rush of seasonal customers returning to their summer homes, we are suspending taking on new customers until after Labor Day. Our focus is on our existing customers. As soon as the doctor releases me to drive again, ( we anticipate in the first week of June ) my wife and grandson will alternate helping me get back to normal as soon as we can. We plan on keeping our helper to continue shuttling full trucks to the landfill over the summer. We greatly appreciate everyone's concern, patience, and kindness. We are currently looking for additional help for the summer months, possibly even through the end of the year. Would need to be able to start days very early in the morning, around 5 am or even earlier. CDL required, as we're looking for someone to eventually run their own routes.. Though we've tried not to let the cold weather stop us, we regret we were unable to finish our Thursday routes, and will not be able to do our Friday routes this week. Yesterday the handles on the back of the truck literally froze in place and we were unable to run our packer. With even colder temperatures this weekend, we simply cannot run the trucks outside at this point. Even after thawing out in the garage overnight, there would still be moisture in the linkages that could freeze up within minutes in these temperatures. We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope to resume our routes the start of the week if the worst of the new storm has passed.

Season's Greetings. Reminder that we will be off Christmas Day and then 1 day behind for the remainder of the week, finishing our Friday route on Saturday. This will be the same for New Years Day. Thank you and have a safe holiday.

Unfortunately if anyone has tried contacting us by phone today service in our area has been out. Frontier had sent an email saying it could take up to 12 hours to fix, and while I'd hoped they'd have gotten to it sooner, it's still not working as of the end of today.

Just 3 friendly reminders for the holiday. 1) We will be running one day behind due to the holiday. Thursday routes will be pickup on Friday and Friday routes on Saturday this week. 2) Unexpected breakdowns to our garbagetrucks lead us from time to time having to use 1 truck to do 2 routes. We ask for everyone to remember to have your trash roadside by 6am or the night before. 3) If your trash has not been collected at its normal time and is still sitting out past 3pm, please leave it out alittle longer as we may be running behind when a malfunction happens. This will insure having your garbage collected on your scheduled day. If your trash has not been picked up by 9pm, please check here for any information regarding route statis. We are thrilled to announce that starting tomorrow afternoon, our pay bags will be available for sale (at the regular price) at The Stony Lake Market (4742 Scenic Dr). Any customers who use the bags (seasonal or who just don't have much trash), feel free to spread the word to other friends who use the bags but may not see this post. Also be sure to shop around and look at their selection of goodies, or try some of their delicious ice cream (it's that time of year🍦). We will still be keeping a supply at our office for anyone who wants to make an appointment to pick some up there.

Our pay bags will no longer be for sale at the Stony Lake Depot. They can still be purchased directly from us at our office on Fish rd. Call or message us here to set up a time where someone can be there.

Good Thursday morning. We have a truck down and I will be delayed several hours today for the residences of Shelby. When Jeff completes his route, I will resume my route with his truck. I may be out as late as 8pm this evening so please leave your cans out and I will be along. One of our spare trucks is having work completed on it later today so we are confident that we will be back to normal time for tomorrow. Thank you and have a sunny day.
