Hey y’all, it’s been a while!!! We’ve mentioned that we primarily post updates on Instagram, but we wanted to drop a few progress photos here, as well.

A good summer for us so far… vineyard is fully replanted, we have about 25% third-year vines, 25% second-year vines, and half are in their first growing season. We are letting about 50 of the most mature vines grow clusters, and we’re looking to make a small amount of wine this fall for personal consumption and sharing.

Wine club members got a more detailed update via email recently - if you didn’t get it, let us know - and if you want those updates in the future, you can join our club! (No cost, no obligation, just inside information and the right to buy our wine in the future.)

Hope everyone is doing well!

We are huge fans of, and collaborators with, the local food pantry. They and we need your help in the coming months so please do what you can to keep them going.

Did you know...
* that the Grand Sheramina Food Pantry reached 3672 households in the first half of 2024?
* and that's 11,672 people!
* and over 18,000 boxes of food!

With the population of City of Sheridan, Oregon at over 3000 permanent residents, that means that we are on track to feed the entire City of Sheridan 8 times just this year!!!!

And did you know that we depend on our amazing volunteers (some pictured here during a recent Tuesday food distribution) and generous donations to keep our operation afloat. Here's how you can help!
* Volunteer on Monday or Tuesday morning to help prepare food for distribution,
* Bring us your returnable plastic bottles and recyclable cans to continue our partnership with BottleDrop,
* Bring us your non-perishable foods that can go directly into our weekly food distribution to the community,
* And last but not least, we rely upon cash donations, so your one-time or monthly gift will truly make a difference in our ability to continue to serve our wonderful community. Donate in person or at https://gsmafoodpantry.com/donate/ .

Giving a little helps a lot!!!!

A happy 4th to all!! And a few baby pics before the wicked heat dome settles in this weekend. Huge improvement vs last summer, with 2nd year survivors in particular really thriving so far. 20 hours of hand watering up to this point… quite a few more ahead. Come onnnnn September! :-)

We completed our first bottling run yesterday, filling 13+ cases out of our 35-gallon barrel! Very happy with how it came out, and can’t wait to have people try it and let us know what they think.

Again, a big thanks to J.L. Kiff Vineyard for their continued help and friendship (and grapes!), and to Andante Vineyard for letting us buy the empty bottles from their stock.

A beautiful spring day in the vineyard, with Julie doing a couple hours of grueling hoeing work, and with snow-covered Mount Jefferson clearly visible in the distance.

It’s been a little while, peeps! A few pics from our past few days out pruning the young vines, giving the second-year ones a second chance to get a good start, and getting the new ones ready for their first summer. Hard to imagine a better way to spend a day or two.

Merry Christmas to all, from Chris and Julie at Vue de l’Esprit! Thank you for your friendship and support. ❤️

After a very tough, hot, dry summer where we suffered about 75% vine loss, we started our replanting effort recently. 350+ vines in the ground, thanks in part to help from Jennifer Lambert Ralston, Paula Lambert, Linda Dill, and Kyle and Logan from the LDS mission here in Sheridan. Tough to have to mostly start over, but there aren’t many better ways to spend a day than working outside here.
