🌴 Florida is still #1 in the nation for new business formations but July brought a noticeable slowdown. 👀

Florida recorded 57,527 new business formations in July, a 4.3% decline from July 2025 and a 10.4% drop from June.

Still, the bigger picture remains strong: 455,246 new businesses have been formed in Florida so far this year. 📈

The question now: Is July’s dip simply seasonal, or is there something more happening beneath the surface?

Oregon is one of the surprise standouts so far in 2026.

New business formations in the state jumped 43% compared with July 2025, marking Oregon’s seventh straight month of growth above 30%. 🚀

And the timing is especially interesting. 👀

Oregon is facing a challenging business environment, including its lowest-ever CNBC business climate ranking this year. Recent job growth has also been modest, with much of it concentrated around data center expansion.
