The Shabby Noodle

The Shabby Noodle Reclaimed, Refurbished, and Repurposed Home Furnishings I found that I like a little more freedom in creating what I want, when I am inspired.

Welcome to The Shabby Noodle...where all things are fun and creative, where people love to find treasures of their own and be inspired by the work I do. I have long enjoyed creating signs and working with wood but quickly burned out on the made to order and remaking of the same sign. I was given an end table from a neighbor one day after it didn't sell in a garage sale and challenged to do somethi

ng fun and creative with it...so I did just that and found that I LOVE recreating different pieces and creating new things!

One of my hardest DIY on a whim projects to date! This thing started out with the 3 pots from Bali in Tualatin. I thought it would be much simpler than it was. About a month (maybe even a month and 1/2 later) and about 4-5 renditions, it’s done and I’m pretty happy with the outcome. Built and stained the stands, assembled it all, drilled holes in the pots (a few more than needed-Lol!) and added some copper piping. Here it is!

It took 49 years for me to finally decide there was something meaningful enough to tattoo on my body. This was my birthday gift for this year and just had it done today.
This is for my Momma. I created most of the design with the exception of incorporating the word “Momma” into the infinity symbol which was above it before, and the added water into the middle of it. I’m very happy with it and had thought about having something like this done for 2 years now after Momma passed away May 2, 2021.

I’ve been away for about 3 years when my Momma got sick with a very aggressive breat cancer (triple negative). I stepped away from most of life to take care of her. I couldn’t think of it having been any other way. Sadly, she passed away last year on May 2nd. I miss her every single day, but I’m getting through it the best I can. I’ve started to dabble again in some Shabby Noodle work and completeld this project this week. Still have some decor to place in the entry but I’m really loving it.
