There is constant upheaval with the import process from other countries, like China, due to supply, COVID and now tariff issues.

It's important to know where your solar company gets their materials from, what the status of delivery is and what recourse you have if there's a product delay.

Pacific Solar Projects solar panels come from Georgia, which at the very least eliminates concern over imported product delays.

Know before you buy or lease and don't hesitate to ask any company rep that you meet with.

Not ready to make the commitment to solar just yet? Here are a few electricity saving tips to help minimize your cost, until you make the switch.

1. Install a whole house fan. - Installing a whole house fan allows you to draw cool air from outside during the cooler hours, instead of running air conditioning continuously.

2. Use dimmers or timers for indoor lighting. - This cuts down on unnecessary power draw.

3. Install a rain sensor on your irrigation system. - This serves as a water conservation device connected to an automatic irrigation system that causes the system to shut down in the event of rainfall, preventing unnecessary watering.

4. Drawing shades or blinds during the cooler hours helps to keep your home cooler throughout the day.

5. Configure your computer for sleep or hibernate mode, or shut it off when not in use. - Computers can draw a lot of power.

Who doesn't love getting money back?!
Currently you can receive up to a 26% tax credit on your solar investment. Don't wait until the end of the year because many will be booking to get in before the rate changes and install doesn't happen overnight.

According to Solar Reviews, "The best time to go solar is now because the 26% ITC will decrease to 22% in 2023 before becoming unavailable for residential solar systems installed in 2024 and beyond."

There are also solar leasing options for those that can't or don't want to incur the upfront costs. Some reasons to lease are:

- Ineligibility for the federal tax credit, IE set income, or retired with no income.
- Ineligibility for SRECs or other local solar rebates
- You do not qualify for a solar loan and you don’t have cash to purchase a system outright
-PPA or Leases are transferable, no buyout required if you sell home. PPA's have an option to purchase after 5 years if you do want to purchase outright.

To book your consultation and find out which option is best for you, text or call Rob at 916.212.7999.

The truth is that solar has changed a lot in the last decade! Here are a few facts that have come to light as solar is gaining in popularity, especially here in California!

A solar energy system’s payback period can be under 5 years in a solar-friendly state. [BOLD]

In California, the payback period on a solar installation is between 4 and 7 years. Part of the reason the payback period is so short is because California has some of the highest electricity prices compared to the rest of the country.

If you consider the average payback period on solar panels for someone paying the average U.S. electricity rate of 13 cents per kilowatt hour in 2022, the average payback period is between 8 and 11 years. PGE average is around 25 cents per kilowatt hour.

The federal solar tax credit covers 26% of the cost if you install before 2023.

The most important financial incentive when going solar is the federal solar tax credit: it covers 26% of a solar energy system’s cost. So if you were to purchase a 7 kW system for $20,650, the tax credit would be worth $5,369, lowering the system’s price down to $15,281.

Sadly, it is only available at the 26% rate until the end of 2022.

The price for solar panels has dropped over 70% in the last 10 years. {BOLD} Yet with gas prices rising, materials costs are going up. Lock in now before they increase any further.

After claiming the solar tax credit, the cost for a solar power system will typically be around $11,500 to $14,800. This is over 70% lower than the price from 10 years ago.

At SolarReviews, they estimate the price of solar will only go up as the value of the solar tax credit gets smaller. Right now, solar is the most economical it ever has been.

Solar energy is booming in the United States. As there's a continued push to go solar, especially in California, the cost of solar installation has gone down significantly in the past few years. Even if you received a solar quote 5 years ago, you may be pleasantly surprised at how the costs have changed, but the savings to you continue to increase!
