We are so excited that the next CUB Retreat and the 50th Anniversary Event will be in SEATTLE this year!!! Please come join us for this momentous occasion!

Join us October 9-10th for our CUB Retreat 2026
in Seattle, Washington!

2026 is CUB's 50th year providing support and community for anyone impacted by adoption. Our planning team is hard at work creating another wonderful annual retreat for our community!

We'll be gathering at a beautiful Pacific Northwest setting right on Lake Washington at The Hyatt Southport Lake Washington next to the 50 acre Coulon Beach Park to enjoy walks along the lake.
We have a terrific mix of educational, advocacy, and support sessions planned, as well as a night of story telling and a night of film in the works!

It’s the people that create the CUB Retreat Experience, where you'll find wisdom, love, guidance, patience, understanding, and friendship. We always have a wonderful mix of new and returning people registering. Many of the new attendees are mothers and fathers in the early stages of becoming aware of how adoption has impacted their lives. Many are adoptees in varying degrees of open and closed adoptions, some are professionals working in the adoption community, but everyone comes to learn and connect. No matter how long into your journey you are, your voice and experience are valuable and important here.

Thank you for being part of our CUB history. We hope to see you in Seattle in October!

Warmly,
CUB Board of Directors
CUB Retreat Team

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

AncestryDNA is having a sale on their DNA kits!

If you have ever been curious about your genetic identity, now is a great time to explore that. Even though this might sound like a sponsored ad for the company, it is more about our work with people impacted by adoption loss and misattributed parentage. Access to accurate genetic heritage directly impacts our identity formation and should be a fundamental right for all human beings. Until we can wholeheartedly agree that secrecy around adoption, relinquishment/termination of parental rights and parentage disclosures is eradicated, we will need to be creative in advocating for access, and this sale removes some barriers (at least cost barriers) for people.

AncestryDNA is the newest DNA test which helps you find genetic relatives and expand your genealogy research. Order your DNA test kit today.

I am profoundly impacted by being a part of this brilliant production of the premiere of the musical "For the Records" in Denver last weekend and will feel forever knitted together with this outstanding group of terrifically talented and huge-hearted people! Thank you from my depths, Richard Uhrlaub, for not only writing this entire masterpiece (story, script, and music!) with all the candor, humor, and nuance needed to represent our collective stories of the lifelong journey of adoption so remarkably well, but also for taking on the staggering challenge of making it all come to life! It was an exceptional honor!
