If your dogs not bothering me, then we have a problem.

For a minute this morning, I may have had my kids convinced I was actually going to Paris 😂

My view was not this nice, but the piano was.

That’s one way to add some “depth” to a little spinet. I was surprised how good it sounds in this room. It is very far from the finest example of its type, but it’s a great demonstration of what “voicing the room” can do.

Oh hey, Sid!

A recent conversation with some colleagues reminded me of this unique case of face pareidolia (faces in inanimate objects) but there were doubters.

Let the world know where Sid the Sloth really lives: in most Yamaha uprights, particularly this P22.

Someone at this factory, 110 years ago, thought “Yea, that’s good enough, nobody will notice that”.

And then along came me, to EXPOSE the scandal 😂

If you don’t see it at first, look at the second “R”

The full quote stamped on the plate reads “WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS FULLY WARRANTED”, so the fact that the mistake was on WARRANTED had me rolling. Too bad we’re 85 years past the warranty now.

All jokes aside though, it’s a rather lovely old piano.

After hearing for the ”millionth” time that a string couldn’t be replaced, I decided to prove that it is possible to replace in a difficult section of the piano. And yes, I HAVE had to do the hitch under the bass strings as well. Anyway, this was a fun edit, and hopefully educational and fun to watch.
