Pleasant-Grove Arch Rival (dob: 2/6/2026) will be my other herd sire this fall. Rival is the son of Pleasant-Grove Mile Arch and Ch Pleasant-Grove WFM Repaid. He is an extremely long, correct buck, with a beautiful head and strong dairy strength, which are two traits that I am hoping he passes on in my herd.
His sire, Arch, contains many influential bucks in his lineage. His pedigree includes Pleasant Grove RR Freeze Frame (2021 National Premier Sire), Pleasant-Grove Super Saga (4-time National Premier Sire), Pleasant-Grove Super Standout (sire of 20ll National RGCH), Marran Rose’s Rochester and Pleasant -Grove Amen Longitude.
His dam, Repaid, has appraised EX91 and EX92 EEEE. As a 2 yr old, she placed 12th in her class at Nationals while on an extended lactation. In 2023, she stood 4th in the 3 yr old class at Nationals. As a 4yr old, she continued to mature and won her class at Nationals and was named Reserve National Champion and Reserve Best Udder in 2024. And, as a 5 yr old, she stood 2nd place to the National Champion. She has had great success in the show ring, but also a hard worker in the milk parlor during her show career.
I look forward to using these strong, proven genetics in my breeding program, and hopefully seeing the improvements that Rival can make in my herd. I will post my breeding plans soon.

Since breeding season has begun, it is time to introduce my two herdsires that I will be using this fall: *BHoanbu YJ Yukon Progress and Pleasant-Grove Arch Rival.
Today I want to introduce Progress. Progress is the son of Hoanbu JT Pasta Pesto 7*M (FS88 (VEVE) @ 02-06) and sired by SG++*B Tempo Aquila Yukon Jack (FS91 (EEE ) @ 04-05). I have admired the Yukon Jack lineage for quite some time, and when I had the opportunity to add a son of his to my breeding plans, I jumped at the chance. And, when this son’s dam just happened to be the 2024 National Jr. Champion Alpine, it was the icing on the cake.
Yukon Jack has been a successful sire for many years, producing numerous champions both in the show ring and in the parlor. He is the sire of Tempo Aquila Free Weft (FS93 (EEEE) @ 04-06), 2023 ADGA National Champion along with many other outstanding does and sires. His influence can be seen throughout generations of the Tempo Aquila program, and I have long admired the consistency and quality behind this line.
Progress’s dam, Pesto, comes from a deep and highly successful dam line in the Hoanbu herd. In addition to being the 2024 National Jr. Champion, Pesto placed 8th as a 3-yr old at the 2026 National show, and was part of the 1st place Produce of Dam with GCH*Hoanbu RR Pasta Primavera 7*M. Primavera herself was the 4th place 2 yr old at the 2026 National Show, and went on to be named GCH and Best Udder at the 2026 Ohio State Fair. Two of Progress’s littermates placed 7th and 13th in the Sr Kid class at this year’s Nationals, and Progress’s maternal granddam, Hoanbu RDM Panini Pasta 6*M (FS92(EEEE)@ 04-05) was 3rd place Sr. Dry Yearling at 2022 Nationals.
When I look at Progress’s pedigree, what excites me most is the depth and consistency on both sides. This isn’t simply a pedigree with one standout animal—it is generation after generation of animals that have proven themselves in the show ring, in their udders, and in production. That is exactly what I want to bring into my herd. I am excited to see what Progress can do as a breeding sire and, most importantly, what his daughters will look like. I am hoping he will help strengthen general appearance, production, and beautiful, functional mammary systems, while adding the quality and depth represented by both of these exceptional families. For me, Progress represents an opportunity to combine two pedigrees I have admired for a long time—and I can’t wait to see the results.
