I am thinking ahead to my breeding season this fall, and I have decided to offer my senior herd sire up for service in someone else’s herd. Pleasant-Grove Akimoto Salus is a 3 yr old French Alpine. His sire is Kara-Kahl Akimoto, son of GCH Kara-Kahl PGW Akebono FS94 (EEEE), 2021 Natioinal Champion and Best Udder. Salus’s dam is Pleasant-Grove JT Salsa FS90 (VEEE), 7th place 2 yr old 2023 National Show. He has improved feet and legs in my herd and his offspring have shown more width in the rear udder and longer extension in the fore. I will be happy to discuss him in more detail if you have interest in adding this well bred buck to your sire lineup for this fall. I am asking $800 or best offer, and consideration would be given to keeping him here at my farm until breeding season.

I was outside today, and couldn’t help noticing how my buck, Pleasant-Grove Akimoto Salus has grown up! He is now 3 yr old, and has assumed the position of Sr. Herdsire, now that I recently sold my other buck Kara-Kahl Armada. I have used Salus sparingly the last couple of years, but this spring I am expecting 5 does to freshen with his kids. Three of these does are ff Armada daughters so this should be pretty exciting to see. I am really liking my Armada daughters, and now to add what I believe Salus will enhance and improve should be an exciting result.
Salus’s sire is Kara-Kahl Akimoto, an own son of Kara-Kahl PG Akebono, 2021 National Champion and Best Udder Alpine - Appraisal 06-05 EEEE 94. Salus’s dam is CH Pleasant Grove JT Salsa EX90, 7th place 2 yr old at 2023 ADGA Nationals. I have a yearling daughter of Salus’s freshening this year. She is looking really sharp, dairy, very correct, and I can’t wait to see the udder that Salus will stamp on her.
Reservations are available for sons and daughters of Salus and Armada. Contact me if interested.

My first doe, Stewart’s Estate KKA Adored, kidded on 2/6/26 with two bucks and one doe. Adored is a 3 yr old, 2nd freshening doe whose sire is Kara Kahl Armada. The sire of these triplets is Redwood Hills P Redeemer, son of 2019 National Champion Alpine, Redwood Hills Klein Rosetta. I really like this breeding! The doe is being retained but one of the bucks is available.
Photo is Adored as a 2 yr old ff.

I am pleased to share that all of my does are confirmed bred for the 2025-26 breeding season. If you see something that interests you, message me and I will be happy to provide more information. Reservations are available on a first-call basis. Photos and pedigrees can be found in previous posts on my fb page. I will also have 2-3 milkers available after kidding. Let me know if you would be interested in a young, show quality milker, and I will add you to the list to be notified in the spring. Thank you for your consideration!

My last doe, due in early April, is Stew JOT Amak. Amak FS89(VVEE) @ 03-05, is a 3 yr old daughter out of Stew Rhythm’s Ashley FS88 (VEEV) @ 01-05, and sired by Tempo Aquila Jack of Trades. Amak has a beautiful mammary; excellent extension in the fore udder attachment and tight in the lateral and rear attachments. She could use a little improvement on her teat placement and rear leg angulation, and I am hoping that breeding her to Pleasant-Grove Akimoto Salus will help her with this. Amak is a littermate sister to Aurora. Aurora is stronger in general appearance, and Amak has a more capacious, more strongly attached mammary – both beautiful does.

I received confirmation today that my last two does were bred, so the 2025 breeding season is over! The first of these two does is Stewart’s Estate Salus Aspire. Aspire is an early March kid that I debated on breeding but she was really beginning to fill out and mature this fall. She is out of Stewart’s Estate Future Aspen, a daughter of Loughlin’s Back to the Future which is known for maturing slow. Aspire’s sire is Pleasant-Grove Akimoto Salus. Aspire will be my first milking daughter of Salus so I am really excited to see a mammary on this doe! Aspire was bred to Kara-Kahl Armada who is adding strength and bone to his offspring, and also tighter attachments in the mammary. She is due to kid in late March. I really like what I am seeing in this young doe; her correctness, dairy strength, and overall balance while she is moving is beginning to catch my eye.

SOLD - Thank you eveyone. Be watching for kids available in the spring!

After much thought, I have decided to offer my senior herd sire, Kara-Kahl Armada, for the opportunity to work in someone else’s herd. He is only 3 yrs old, but more than half of my small herd is sired by him. With two more does freshening in the spring bred to him, I just am limited on how much I can use him in the future. Armada is out of the amazing doe, GCH Kara-Kahl PGL Arugula, and sired by Ch Pleasant-Grove Zen Wingnut. Although Arugula passed away recently, her influence has, and will be, evident in many herds through her daughters, sons, granddaughters, and grandsons. Take a look at the Kara-Kahl webpage or FB page, and you will see many, many beautiful daughters and granddaughters with gorgeous mammaries who are maternal sisters to Armada. Take a look at herds such as Hardluck Hollow, Pleasant-Grove, and others and you will see his maternal and paternal brothers and sisters working hard, improving their herds. One of his most notable relations is Kara-Kahl PGW Akebono who is, you might say, a ¾ brother to Armada – they have the same dam, and their sires are full brothers, Wingding and Wingnut.
I have a tested, clean herd, and am located in West-Central Ohio. There are too many photos of his dam and sire lines on websites and FB to begin choosing, but I have included a few offspring of his in my herd. His oldest daughter in my herd is 2 yr old, but I like what I see in general appearance, strength, and improved mammaries. If you are interested in any further information, feel free to contact me. Thanks for consideration.

My next two does are twin girls, born 2/16/25, sired by my buck Kara-Kahl Armada and out of Stewart’s Estate TAJT Vestige. I am real excited about the future of these two does, as well as their full sister Visage, that I featured a few days ago. Venice is a little longer, taller, and displays more dairy character. Vintage has more width across the back and rump, and more depth in the heart girth and rear barrel. Venice outplaced Vintage at every show this season except for the last show at the Ohio State Fair. At this point, it is hard for me to favor one over the other. They are both due in mid-March, and I can’t wait to see another Armada mammary on each of these young does! I bred each of these two does to my younger buck Pleasant-Grove Akimoto Salus; a buck that I am appreciating more and more for his ability to pass on his strong general appearance to his kids.

My favorite yearling in 2025 is Stewart’s Estate KKA Visage, a dry yearling that shows so much promise. I like her length, her wide, flat rump, her femininity along with plenty of bone substance, and her open escutcheon. I can’t wait to see her fill this up with the beautiful udder that her pedigree is known for. Visage is sired by Kara-Kahl Armada and her dam is Stewart’s Estate TAJT Vestige, a daughter of CH Tempo Aquila Jack Traveler. Visage is actually one of three full sisters of this cross that I will be freshening next spring. I bred Visage to Pleasant-Grove Akimoto Salus for March babies.
