It's going to be warm for Nebraska R***e, here are some tips to make sure you're not disappointed with a bad cape.

Get your deer caped as soon as possible (to the base of the skull- do not split down the back)

Keep it out of the sun and keep it dry- Do not wash any blood off.
Bacteria breeds in water and speeds up hair slippage, warmer temps increase the chance.

Get it to your taxidermist quickly, if you're unable- get it cooled down. Place the caped head in a trash bag and put it in a chest freezer.

Coolers are fine-BUT, they will dry your hide out quickly- a day or two is max. If you're putting a caped head in a cooler, hang it so moisture doesn't pool between the floor and hide. Bag the face and ears to keep them from drying out. A wet hide sitting on the floor of a cooler will start to slip quickly.

When caping, refer to our video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK-6dn42OgQ&t=32s

Good luck this season!
