This week, we’re highlighting Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston , a valued Chamber member and an important part of the educational, economic, and cultural landscape of our region.

For more than 150 years, SEMO has been preparing students for successful careers while providing opportunities for learning, leadership, and personal growth. With its main campus in Cape Girardeau and regional campuses and locations throughout Southeast Missouri, including right here in Sikeston, the University continues to make higher education accessible to students across our area.

Beyond the classroom, SEMO plays an important role in strengthening our regional workforce, supporting local businesses and communities, and preparing the next generation of leaders and professionals.

We’re proud to have Southeast Missouri State University as part of our Chamber and appreciate the many ways the University continues to invest in and impact Southeast Missouri. SE-!

What an incredible experience for our region, thanks to Bootheel Progress With Partnership, Missouri Partnership, and Missouri One Start!

We loved seeing so many of our Chamber members involved in showcasing our community! Alan Wire, The Magnum Ice Cream Company, Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo, Carson’s, Slusher Farm & Home, Fairfield Inn & Suites and TownePlace Suites, the Sikeston Rodeo Museum and so many community and regional leaders came together to welcome site selectors from all over the country.

What a great reminder of what can happen when people who love this community come together. We are confident that our visitors enjoyed their time in the bootheel!

Site selectors visited the Sikeston area for a firsthand look at Southeast Missouri’s business climate, workforce, infrastructure and investment opportunities.

Last Thursday, we celebrated the ribbon cutting for First Kids Preschool at Sikeston First United Methodist Church!

With a newly remodeled facility, welcoming classrooms and spaces designed for children to learn and play, First Kids Preschool is preparing to open its doors tomorrow to families in our community. The preschool will serve children from birth through age 5 in a safe, nurturing environment rooted in faith and learning.

Congratulations to the First Kids team on this exciting new chapter! We’re glad to welcome you to the Sikeston business community and look forward to seeing the impact you’ll have on local families.
