Exploration means braving the unknown.

Being an adventurer in Papua New Guinea means enduring the permanent humidity of the forest, relentlessly hacking through with a machete, and accepting uncertainty.

After 3 grueling weeks pushing the "Beam of Light" network, the team was still waiting for that one mind-blowing discovery. And then, thanks to Cedric's clever, well-intentioned plot to let David lead the way, the magic happened.

Past the dried-up potholes and beautiful white limestone, the abyss suddenly opened into a gigantic subterranean void. 150 meters below, an enormous dome, sculpted like clay by a potter, revealed a stunning blue pool, a blue only seen in Mexican cenotes fed by underground waterfalls.

280m below the surface, a silent siphon finally halted this incredible adventure. A massive congratulations to David, Cedric, Jean-Paul, Lea, and the entire team for their relentless perseverance!

"When we arrive, I'm reunited with humidity and familiar scent of this country that left such a lasting impression on me during my first expedition in 2014." 🌿

With these words, David Parrot pulls us straight into the raw reality of the 2026 Nakanaï Expedition. Before the team even reaches the limestone, Papua New Guinea puts them to the test.

It’s Adventure with a capital "A." It means being jolted awake in the middle of the night by a wave crashing over the side of the boat in the Bismarck Sea. It means watching the horizon until dawn, when the Nakanaï Mountains finally emerge in the distance, like the slash of a giant sword.

It also means trekking through the jungle, with Cédric Lachat cutting a path through dense vegetation while Alex Lopez endures the same unforgiving conditions to capture every moment of the expedition.

After unloading 80 packages and enduring six hours in what feels like a giant jungle greenhouse, base camp is finally established. The search for the region's vast cave systems can begin.
