What an honor! Magnet Schools of America has named W.A. Perry Middle School a 2026 Nationally Certified Demonstration Magnet School. As one of the top magnet schools in the U.S., W.A. Perry will serve as a model to other magnets nationwide. We are so proud to partner with Richland County School District One to support W.A. Perry and Richland One BLAST Aerospace Magnet Programs, and we congratulate DrTeresa Turner, Director of Magnet and Choice Programming, and all the other district and school staff whose dedication and leadership helped W.A. Perry become one of just 37 schools across the country to earn this prestigious designation.

🎉 W.A. Perry Middle School was among 37 schools nationwide named Certified Demonstration Schools this year! We are so proud of our BLAST program's role in setting national standards! 🌟

To thrive in school, every child needs access to essential tools like pencils and paper. Sadly, 1 in every 4 students in the US cannot afford school supplies, according to data from United Way.

We at TEG believe that all children deserve a chance to excel academically. That’s why we’re making donations of school supplies this month. It’s part of our commitment to supporting access to education, as well as our purpose: to create opportunities to improve lives.

A “grout” time was had by all at our recent Team Time, where we created colorful mosaic coasters while catching up on each other’s lives. Events like this help keep us connected and make us stronger as a team. We’re so grateful for the mosaic of personalities, skills, and ideas that our team members bring to the table!

Wow! What an exciting start to the year ahead! Congratulations to our partners at Richland One BLAST Aerospace Magnet Programs for creating a magical first day of school to inspire and excite Watkins-Nance Elementary students. It was such a treat for TEG's Christy Munro Derrick to experience it alongside the educators and students. We're so proud to support BLAST's efforts to engage students in STEM learning!

Last week, TEG joined Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) partners and other MSAP grantees from across the nation at the 2025-26 Project Directors’ Meeting held in Arlington, VA. This year’s theme was “Making Connections: Building Networks -> Sharing Your Story -> Leading the Way.”

TEG’s Christy Derrick joined DrTeresa Turner of Richland County School District One to present on outreach, community engagement, and other recruitment strategies that the BLAST magnet program has used to increase student enrollment. TEG’s Kristin LaRoche connected with other MSAP partners Beaufort County School District and St. Martin Parish Magnet Program to learn about best practices and innovative strategies for enhancing their individual magnet programs.

TEG is grateful for the opportunity to build relationships, explore new ideas, and share information at the 2025-26 MSAP Project Directors’ Meeting. We loved catching up with our partners and look forward to future gatherings!

International Self-Care Day reminds us that caring for ourselves isn't a luxury—it's a strategy for sustaining meaningful impact.

Observed on 7/24, this day highlights the importance of practicing self-care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

At The Evaluation Group, we know that healthy organizations begin with healthy people. Educators, school leaders, mental health professionals, nonprofit staff, and community partners dedicate themselves every day to improving the lives of others. To continue making that difference, it's important to invest in your own well-being, too.

Whether it's taking a walk, connecting with loved ones, practicing mindfulness, eating nourishing foods, or simply taking time to recharge, small acts of self-care help build resilience, reduce burnout, and strengthen our ability to serve others.
Today—and every day—we encourage you to prioritize your well-being. When people thrive, organizations thrive, and communities benefit.
