As Summer is winding down and Fall approaches, we’d like to let our customers and local residents know about the things to look out for in the season!
Wasps are prevalent in our area without a doubt. This year has been a very good year for them due to the humidity and warmth. Nests have been very thick and their peak population is nearing with the Fall season. They become much more aggressive in this time due to conditions around the nest being more active and eggs hatching. The cooler weather also means they’ll be more protective of their surroundings and expand their zone to compensate. So be vigilant when cleaning for the close of the warm season.
Nesting areas include bushes, corners in eves, behind vinyl shutters, between flashing and gutters, under porch handrails, and many more places that don’t normally become exposed to sun, wind, and rain.
We hope everyone is having a great year and we are wishing all the students and teachers a wonderful school year ahead!
