Some things are meant to stay.

I turned the little wind-up key on the back of this teddy bear and it still played. 🧡

After an incredible number of years, this little bear still carries a song. But for me, it carries so much more.

Childhood. Memories. People I love. A piece of my story.

This is something I want people to understand about decluttering:

You do not have to get rid of everything.

Decluttering isn’t about how much you can throw away. It’s about thoughtfully deciding what deserves a place in the life you’re living today.

Some things have served their purpose and can be released.

And some things?

You keep. 🧡

Because sometimes a worn little teddy bear isn’t clutter at all.

When an idea becomes something bigger. 🧡

The Letting Go Project started with a simple idea: make it easier for people in our community to let go of what they no longer need while helping those who need it most.

I am incredibly grateful to the Furniture Mission of South Dakota for believing in the idea, embracing it, and running with it. What a gift to see an idea turn into meaningful action in our community.

A huge thank you also goes out to Two Men And A Junk Truck for generously providing a truck and two team members to help us make pickups throughout the community for our very first event. 🚚💪

This is what can happen when local businesses and organizations come together with a shared purpose.

Our first Letting Go Project may be behind us, but we are just getting started. I look forward to continuing these partnerships and creating even more opportunities to let go, give back, and make a difference.
