‼️‼️PUBLIC AWARENESS NEEDED— PLEASE SHARE‼️‼️
Authorities investigating the disappearance and death of 25-year-old Isadora Wengel are asking the public to remain alert for an important piece of evidence that has not been located.
Wengel was reported missing in January 2026. Investigators believe she died in the Fargo area, and her remains have not been recovered. While the investigation has primarily focused on the corridor between Fargo, North Dakota, and Otter Tail County, Minnesota, this information is being shared in South Dakota in case evidence was transported farther from the identified search area.
Authorities are specifically searching for a black 27-gallon HDX Tough Storage Tote with a red lid. Investigators have said the tote may contain evidence related to the case. Anyone who encounters a similar tote in an unusual location should not open, move, or touch it and should contact law enforcement.
Investigators have also sought surveillance footage of a Subaru Impreza with North Dakota license plate 592ETF from approximately 2:00–5:30 a.m. on January 7 in southwest Otter Tail County.
Joshua Alexander Hite, 21, of Fargo, has been charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and providing false information to law enforcement in connection with Wengel's death. Hite has pleaded not guilty. The charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Residents of eastern and northeastern South Dakota, particularly those who farm, hunt, fish, travel rural roads, maintain property, or regularly encounter ditches and wooded or abandoned areas, are encouraged to keep this information in mind.
