I stayed at the San Juan Airport Hotel my first trip to Puerto Rico. I’m already planning my next Puerto Rico getaway. Dreaming of kicking back at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. It’s one of Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2024. Dreaming about champagne in hand, a great book, and that endless view of the Atlantic. Might even get some Spanish practice in between the relaxation and reviewing my goals. Who else needs to escape and relax? 😎

Getting away from smoky skies in Chicago this week sounds pretty tempting right now. Ojai California sun, palms, and mountain backdrop look like a serious upgrade. My mother’s dear friend, Betty May, took us to the Waldorf Astoria in New York. I remember learning to really appreciate a fantastic dining experience thinking we were just going for lunch. Happy 250th Birthday, America!
There’s nothing quite like fireworks lighting up the DC sky above the Lincoln Memorial toward the Capitol. I remember that night in 2002 was pure Americana— patriotic music filling the air, unity, stars and stripes everywhere. Still chasing those unforgettable Washington vibes and dreaming about being in Washington DC for the 4th of July for the 250-year celebration.
Proud and grateful to call this country home! High 5 🖐️ America!

Thinking about the 4th of July next Saturday, I remember our trip to Washington DC for the first 4th of July after 9-11. How everyone felt so Patriotic and proud to be an American. Before the fireworks at the National Mall, you could hear traditional American patriotic songs. The fireworks were spectacular. Now I'm dreaming about being in Washington DC for the 4th of July. Staying at my favorite hotel, InterContinental The Willard Washington D.C.😊 One of Condé Nast Traveler’s Best Hotels in Washington, DC, the Nation's Vibrant Capital.
If you know, you know—few places capture the spirit of the 4th quite like our Nation’s Capital. Definitely dreaming of fireworks and that energy! High 5 🖐️
