Growing up on the farm leaves a lasting impression. I’m especially grateful for the family traditions we shared that always stick with you. And even more so today. Like watching the Memorial Day parade in Marshalltown Iowa honoring the heroes who gave everything for our country and remembering simple moments like enjoying a cherry malt from Taylors Maid-Rite. I can almost taste that classic loose meat sandwich. 😊 Wishing everyone a meaningful weekend filled with gratitude and time to reflect on what matters most.

The April 15th Tax Day cartoon doesn’t tell the whole story this year. This tax season all my tax clients have enjoyed the benefits of higher refunds or lower tax due under the Trump administration's "One Big Beautiful Bill." 💰

Key Tax Law Changes (One Big Beautiful Bill):
No Tax on Tips: Up to $25,000 deduction (phased out over $150k MAGI/$300k MFJ), notes TurboTax.
No Tax on Overtime: Up to $12,500 deduction (similar phase-outs), says TurboTax.
Child Tax Credit: Increased to $2,200 from $2,000, according to TurboTax.
Senior Deduction: Additional $6,000 for those 65 and older, notes TurboTax.

Trump Accounts: A new provision where a $1,000 federal contribution is made for eligible children, which cannot be funded before July 4, 2026, according to the Internal Revenue Service.

April 15th is special day for me. It’s a reminder of all the wonderful wedding anniversaries with my college Sweetheart. It takes me back when I would mail our tax return and we would sometimes head to Chicago O’Hare for a romantic getaway. 🏖 I know she would have loved to stay at the Little Palm Island Resort & Spa in Florida. One of Condé Nast Traveler 11 Coastal Hotels in the US. If only I could teleport straight to Little Palm Island Resort & Spa right now! She would have been thinking about the sand and the spa, and I’d be eyeing that tax-friendly Florida breeze. 😎🏖️
