On November 4, 1980, Ronald Reagan was elected U.S. president in a landslide defeat of Democrat President Jimmy Carter. Carter won six states (including Georgia) and the District of Columbia. That was the last time a Democrat president lost his re-election.
In a 1980 campaign speech at the Neshoba fair, Reagan said, "I believe we have distorted the balance of our government today by giving powers that were never intended to be given in the Constitution to that federal establishment."
So sad that it's only gotten worse.

I think you all know without my saying it that Nancy and I have never seen anything like this, because there isn't anything like this any place on earth.
