As the summer is coming to an end, and I look back at all the amazing things that we’ve done at Fire Suppression Solutions. There are many people that we have to thank. First of all, we have to thank Freemasons - Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota and have made such a huge impact on public safety in these states and do it without any recognition. They are the silent donors that put equipment into the hands of police, Fire, Schools and others without asking for any thing in return. They have saved over 200 lives and property between the defibrillators, the Fst‘s and Staysafe products that they have donated. Even more heartwarming is they’re not stopping. They’ve now joined partnerships with the Wisconsin tavern league to continue to provide life-saving equipment to departments around the state of Wisconsin.

We saw one of the units deployed in Hartford that saved the house as the Hartford Police Officer deployed the unit before the fire department got on scene. It has been such an honor to work with the Hartford police department and fire department. Fire SS work with the Washington County sheriffs department, and many other police and fire departments in Washington County. Fire Suppression Solutions is so proud to have our United States headquarters located right here in Washington county. It starts at the top with leadership, Sheriff Marty Schulteis is amazing, but we also have to thank the voices we hear every day but don’t see the faces of these amazing people, the dispatchers. This summer we had the honor of having Sheriff Schulteis waive the green flag on Father’s Day weekend for an ASA race, we had the Washington County honor guard present colors at that race. We had Allenton Fire Chief and St. Lawrence Fire Chief representing local fire service. We have had the chance to work closely with the West Bend fire department also. I could continue to talk about what an amazing county we live in, but it’s not just the county it’s the United States. I’ve had the honor to train with the Vermont State hazmat team, many other departments and schools in the United States learning how to keep their community safer. Though summer is coming to an end we are going to continue to march forward and help educate the public and different fire safety events. Thank you for everyone that participated in any of our programs this summer and we look forward to continuing our partnership.

Training before the emergency builds confidence when it matters most.

This multijurisdictional training brought together Washington County fire and police departments, along with the Wisconsin State Patrol, for hands-on Fire Suppression Tool education and deployment.

Fire Suppression Solutions works with fire and public safety departments nationwide on FST education, training and deployment.

What does a real Fire Suppression Tool deployment look like?

John Holland with the Oshkosh Fire Department walks through the FST activation sequence and a live deployment demonstration.

The FST aerosol itself is non-toxic, non-corrosive and does not deplete oxygen. Normal fire-scene hazards and response precautions still apply.

Fire Suppression Solutions works with fire and public safety departments across the country on FST education, training and deployment.

What should you know before deploying a Fire Suppression Tool?

Too hot to approach with an extinguisher first, a Minnesota deputy deploys the Fire Suppression Tool.

“That box really worked. It knocked it down.”

Pull two pins and toss it in! Once activated, the FST releases a fire-suppressing aerosol into the enclosed space to help knock down flames and rapidly reduce heat, giving first responders another option for those critical early moments.

Fire Suppression Solutions will be joining Hartford Fire & Rescue Wisconsin and the Hartford Police Department at National Night Out on Wednesday, August 12.
