A Black Bear Siting in Slinger!?🐻
Bears don't quite fall under our wildlife control services.
In Bear-related situations:
🚶Do not approach the Bear! Give it plenty of space to leave.
🚨Call 911 if the bear is being a threat to life or property.
📢Make yourself big, bang pots, pans, shout, or use an air horn to scare it away if you're in an unfavorable position.
📲Contact the DNR and/or the USDA Wildlife Services of Southern Wisconsin if the bear is being a nuisance or it is a non-emergency situation.

🐞 It's June, which means June Bugs are back!

Despite their name, June bugs (also called May beetles) can appear from late spring through summer. These buzzing beetles are attracted to lights at night and are known for their clumsy flight patterns.

Did you know?
🔹 June bugs spend most of their lives underground as grubs, feeding on grass roots.
🔹 The adult beetles only live for a few weeks.
🔹 While they can be a nuisance around outdoor lights, they are an important part of the ecosystem and serve as food for birds, mammals, and other wildlife.

Seeing more June bugs around your property this month? That's completely normal—but large numbers of grubs in your lawn could be a sign of a bigger issue.
