You’ve taken one of these ERMI test, so
now what? Well ultimately, you have to find the source of mold and moisture in the home. Unfortunately, the inspection standard in our business is very poor, so
what if there was a way for you to learn how to inspect your house for mold and moisture like pro. Brantley May has put together this tremendous course to teach
you how to inspect your home from mold
and moisture. You’ll get tips from industry
professionals, like myself and others.
Ultimately, this is what it comes down to finding where the sources of mold and moisture exist. This is far more valuable than any test because this is lifelong
information you can take with you. For almost the same price as one of these tests, you can get your hands on this course. Click the link below save $40 today https://www.buildingscience.us/link/msxu2A/HNST40?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.buildingscience.us%2Fcourse%2Fhomeownermoldinspection

If you install insulation directly atop the roof decking like this without continuous airflow behind the insulation connecting the soffit vents and the ridge vent, condensation and subsequent mold growth can occur. Often, retrofitting older homes leads to issues like this.

Bathroom Mold Prevention Tip
When you use your shower, a large amount of humidity is generated. This moist air can migrate behind window blinds and condense on the cooler surfaces of the window. When blinds remain closed, airflow is restricted and ev***ration is slowed, allowing moisture to persist over time and potentially contribute to mold growth.
When privacy isn’t needed, consider raising the blinds to improve airflow and promote drying of the window surfaces.

One of the most important things for consumers to understand is that the estimate and contract provided by the remediation company should accurately reflect the scope of work that is expected to be performed. Verbal assurances and promises are not guarantees that specific work will be completed. Ensure that all agreed-upon work, procedures, and expectations are clearly documented in writing within the estimate and contract.

It is also important to keep your Independent Environmental Professional (IEP) involved throughout the remediation process. The IEP may help to review all estimates, work plans, and proposed remediation protocols to confirm they are consistent with the recommendations outlined in the inspection report. Maintaining an open line of communication between the IEP and the remediation contractor can help prevent misunderstandings, ensure the project remains on track, and improve the likelihood of a successful outcome.

Good news here. Industry needs more regulation.

Congratulations to the people in the state of Connecticut and to Change the Air Foundation for all their hard work and perseverance

Celebrating some incredible news and it starts with a thank you.

CT HB 5222 is now law in Connecticut. What does that mean for the people of Connecticut?

🟢Mold remediation contractors must be certified.

🟢The ANSI/IICRC S520 standard of care is now enforceable statewide.

🟢Families dealing with mold and water damage have protections they didn't have before.

That didn't happen because of us. It happened because of the people who funded this work, showed up as volunteers, shared their stories, and refused to accept that nothing would ever change.

Change the Air Foundation is proud to have played a role. But the credit belongs to the community that made it possible.

This is our second state bill since 2022. The momentum is real and it's because of you.

How about you? Will you join our celebration by tagging someone who needs to know about this?

Small particle cleaning is a critical step in properly remediating the home. Mold, Mycotoxins, Bacteria and other environmental triggers (biological contaminants) are in the dust.
