Then, we can design around that. The design evolves from the story. Without the story, the design does not serve its purpose.

This week’s is plants! I’ve grown so fond of using real plants to decorate a space, and now that fall is coming, live plants will definitely brighten up any room. My current project is rehabilitating a fiddle leaf fig that I mistreated because I didn’t pay attention to care instructions 🤦🏽‍♀️. I am so proud of the new buds that are coming through! Soon it’ll be flourishing like the other fiddle leaf plant I have. What are your favorite indoor plants?

This quote couldn’t be more accurate about design. I came across it as I was rearranging furniture in one of my rooms for the umpteenth time 😂. Most design TV shows make decor look so simple, and like everyone can do it with the snap of a finger. Design is about more than choosing pillows and art, it’s about creating purposeful spaces that speak to ones personality, spirit, and lifestyle. It’s my job to make the “after” look simple, but there’s so much more that goes into it. There is an art to the art.
