As a hairstylist, your income goals change.

First, it’s $10,000 a month.

Then it’s $20,000 a month.

Then it’s $30,000 a month.

But if your income is still tied to your hands, your schedule, and the number of hours you can physically work, nothing has really changed except the numbers.

I recently listened to Eric Thomas talk about having an anchor.

Many people chase the car, the jewelry, the money, and the lifestyle.

But what happens when you finally get those things?

I know because I’ve lived it.

I consistently made $10,000, $20,000, and even $30,000 months as a hairstylist.

And I still burned out.

I was exhausted because my income depended entirely on me showing up behind the chair.

I started asking myself different questions.

What good is the money if you’re too tired to enjoy it?

What good is success if you’re missing important moments with your children?

What good is building a business if you don’t have time to travel, work out, date, go to church, pray, or simply rest?

That’s when I realized my anchor couldn’t be money.

My anchor had to be God, my family, my peace, and building a life that gave me options.

I spent years behind four walls and behind a salon chair.

Early mornings. Late nights. Sore feet. Back pain. Long days.

People always ask me why I didn’t just go part-time.

The answer is simple: I was exposed to rooms that taught me there was another way.

I learned how to leverage systems, diversify my income, invest, and build a business that didn’t rely solely on my time.

After two years of rebuilding and restructuring, I replaced my income as a hairstylist and retired at 33.

Now, I can work from anywhere.
