This June 18, 2026, Songbird Parlour is honored to be one of six restaurants across the country participating in the inaugural M.F.K. Fisher Month — a celebration of her life, her legacy, and the enduring power of a well-set table.

M.F.K. Fisher lived and wrote in Glen Ellen, just down the road from where we cook. Her words transformed the way generations of people think about food, pleasure, and the meaning of gathering together. It feels only right that we celebrate her here.

On June 18th, we're bringing her spirit into our kitchen — a five-course dinner drawn from her recipes and the sensibility behind them. Food that is honest, generous, and deeply human.

Today it was our club’s honor to donate and deliver 40 Electric Automatic Shut-Off Tea Kettles to low income seniors at Burbank Housing’s Sonoma Creek and Oak Ridge apartments. Thanks to member Sheana Davis and her husband Ben Sessions of The Epicurean Connection for bringing this need to our club in conjunction with their No Pay Cafe project. Residents can now safely make hot beverages and mix and eat meals.

Our club is small but mighty. We’d love you to join us!

June 3, 2026, as The M.F.K. Fisher Foundation marks the launch of the inaugural M.F.K. Fisher Month with a picnic luncheon at her Last House, located on All Hands Ecology's beautiful Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen, California.

The luncheon will be an intimate gathering and attendance will be limited. This is a rare opportunity to visit Last House, talk with family and Foundation board members, and enjoy a meal much as she might have served to her guests in the space that meant so much to her.

We expect that this intimate gathering will sell-out quickly. Those who are interested are encouraged to register early.

Today we made fresh Fava Leaf Pesto & Nasturtium Leaf Pesto to share at Earth Day this weekend. All of our leaves came from a local organic, biodynamic farm right here in Glen Ellen. Thanks Mike Benziger for the amazing produce. And thanks for being a farming pioneer.

Ben and I had a few magical moments this morning harvesting Fava Leaves & Nasturtium Leaves between rains at Glentucky Farm with Mike Benziger. We are going to make two pestos to serve at Earth Day at The Sonoma Community Center, Saturday April 25, everyone welcome and the event is free!
