Another day working on Allen’s Farm creating a bedding area by removing tree canopy. We are still flush cutting trees currently, once all flush cuts are done and firewood chunks are removed we will be hinge cutting some of the remaining smaller maple to add more browse and side cover. Working in New York not as much browse grows in one growing season as some of the southern states.

The deer are already starting to use the area we cut just a few days ago! Providing browse for the wintertime and opening up the canopy a win win in habitat work!

A beautiful day to open up the tree canopy on a south facing slope. This will allow much more sunlight to reach the forest floor and promote new growth.
