I have been making boxes recently. These are 1/4 leatherette with marble paper on the boards and edge of the boxes. I did a set of four for the customer. And, I have more boxes to make for other customers. Projects seem to come in cycles!

One of a couple of boxes I made recently, I quite enjoy making boxes!

Congratulations to Martina Garcia Raya Radonic for being the 2025 recipient of the Gretchen Buntschuh Literary Scholarship, Sturgis Charter Public School. The bindery donated the binding of a collection of their essays and articles. The award is inspired by Ms. Buntschuh's own words: "I love beautiful words. I love to dance through language", this scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated a genuine interest in literature and a love of language. It is a privilege to contribute the binding.

I used one piece of marble on both of these books. The green and blue leather make the paper look as though it isn't from the same sheet.

I bound this book for myself many years ago and have always stored it in a custom clamshell box. The box protected the book from sunlight and environmental damage and the colors are as bright as when I bound it. It is a full leather with inlays and onlays of leather.
