“A reputable designer/builder asking what a client’s budget is, is not a scheme to see how much they can take from you. It’s a valuable question and tool to see what they can give you.”
Let’s unpack and discuss this statement more through out the week. Check in daily as we post and discuss the importance of a budget when it comes to planning your next home renovation.

Over the past few months I’ve had the privilege of working alongside The Well’s vision team to bring their ideas to life through design concepts for their community campaign.

As a designer, I’m passionate about creating spaces that serve a greater purpose and positively impact the people who use them. When I heard The Well’s vision for creating a community center in Bloomingdale, a place designed to bring people together, provide support, and strengthen the community, I was excited to be part of it.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to help visually shape their vision and excited to see the project come to life.

The “media guy” recently asked Erin, lead designer/owner here at Mae Interiors what an example of a functional design from a past project looked like and she pointed out this little space she designed in a client’s kitchen.
Space for snacks and drinks for the busy family to grab and go in an easy to access area. Freeing up space in the main kitchen fridge and pantry and keeping traffic flowing through the kitchen and dining area moving during “peak traffic” times in the kitchen.

Erin’s thought’s on function?
“I design around how you actually live. Your home should function for your family—not just look good in photos. I think through storage, traffic flow, durability, and comfort so the space works beautifully every day”

Every home, client and space is different. Design is not a one size, one style fits all approach. Make home feel and function like “home”.
Mae Interiors is ready to help West Michigan client’s create “home”

Isaac is so kind. The food is fantastic haven’t gotten to try all of the dogs yet but the coney and the tropical dog were awesome. Nice having them parked off blue star for quick in and out stop during the work day for a snack and or lunch.
