Ashley was so excited

to receive her childhood home portrait

I added a beautiful sky scape to spark the essence of her memories she held while her grandparents who raised her here. Flowers on each end and a sweet lamppost just as she remembered.

Me + Ashley met at this home in Sandy, UT for a better photo as the current residents invited us in. Ashley got to fill in the storyline gaps on character of the home & even informed that the spirit they felt was her grandfather's humor 🫧

It was great opportune to reconnect with Ashley to make this portrait as she was my childhood friend.

Unwinding toxic positivity

The home I was raised in had a
very physically ill father. With Dad'd lifelong up's & downs to conquer digestive parasite, weakened heart & realization today he too is highly sensitive, my mom went on override in the initiative to assist. She went on this lifelong journey while having more children. She was very sure to see my dad invest in his emotional well being. They took Eastern Medicine approach.

At a childs age, I developed these ideas:
Skinny was healthy
Dieting/cleanses was normal
Energy work replaced licensed therapy
Everyone experienced long waiting periods between meals (due to lots of children)
Everyone naturally handled 'hangry' feeling
Our grandparents diseases are also ours

This is an waiting to happen

It didn't help I was already a long armed, skinny child. I lacked courage to stand up for myself with the neighbors play of 'Skinny Minnie'.

What ive come to learn:

💚 I get to choose what 'healthy' is to me

💚 I love being 'soft'

💚 Excercise isn't a 'have to'

💚 I feel good when I gain weight in the middle area.

💚 God gave me an
He also knows....
candy 🍬 is a great solution in addiction

💚 I love eating & not feeling guilty

💚 I don't obsess about what I look like in a swimsuit

💚 I create my own sense of 'well being'

💚 I create my beliefs over family history

What has helped:

🦋 Mirror work
🦋 Talk Therapy
🦋 Women's groups
🦋 Finding slow pace in life

What I have left behind for better pursuits:

Modeling
Cut contacts
Removing toxic relationships
Codependency in family

requires a specific environment.

Sometimes it's the most helpful to take a break from it all. Go away 🧖 for a while - wherever that is --- doing other activities, traveling🌴, spending time with friends & family🍓

Im really happy

I had the opportunity to go to California & return back to Utah last week!

I have been taking short 1-3 day trips 3x a year to visit my little sister for relationship building while she typically doesn't like to be far from her family.

I feel grateful my life consists of simplicity to fly out to her when needed 🛫

In this trip, I had the opportunity to visit her neighbors gorgeous duplex home.

I used my skills (😅 really just good natural light for highlights & color seeking) to capture this fluff kitty 🐈

This will be the next scheduled animal portrait this summer 🤗🥰 😺

Im happy

I got to feel the California sun, be next to citrus trees, touch the ocean - still cold this time of year, watch kite flying, put my nephew Elias to bed, yogurt breakfast bowls, sleep & try new restaurants while taking this out of state trip with new love 😘

I'm happy

Simple traveling trips
Restore my creative motions
Put me back into being excited
to work on multiple paintings & content building.

Living my dream life ☺️🌷
