For more than 30 years, Randy has been a fixture at Kennecott’s concentrator, knowing the operation like the palm of his hand. As an advanced operator working day and night shifts, he’s spent decades helping produce the copper that helps power modern life.

But Randy’s impact extends far beyond his day job.

For the past 20 years, he has personally maintained wildlife water troughs near the concentrator, ensuring animals have access to fresh water year-round. Through summer heat, winter snowstorms and everything in between, he has taken on this responsibility alongside his regular duties simply because he cares deeply about the wildlife that share this landscape.

His passion doesn’t stop there. Over the years, Randy has captured thousands of photos of the wildlife he encounters, creating a much-anticipated annual calendar that has become a favorite among colleagues across the site.
His dedication to both producing materials essential to everyday life and caring for the wildlife that call this area home is a powerful example of stewardship in action. For two decades, his quiet commitment has made a lasting difference for countless animals and inspired those around him.

35 years of grit, heart, and legacy.

This International Day of Women in Mining, we’re honoring Jerrie Terry and a career built on resilience, consistency, and quiet leadership.

Starting in the power plant and spending most of her career in the refinery, Jerrie showed up every day ready to learn, work hard and support her team. Along the way, she built a life at Kennecott, raising her family, forming lasting friendships and creating a legacy that will carry forward.

As she prepares to retire, Jerrie leaves behind more than 35 years of service. She leaves a path for others to follow.

Her advice? Don’t be afraid to try something new.
