Weekend!

But to Start
I was sorry to hear of the passing of Elf Marc VDS Racing Team s owner Marc van der Straten.
This Man had a Passion for everything that goes fast and can win. I didn't know him - but you could see from his manner and mood that he was someone that understood two things -
To win you have to be funded correctly, buy the best equipment and find the best riders.
and also - It should be FUN
I saw a man who enjoyed every second of what he was doing and celebrated each small step like a victory. His racing endeavors along with a team logo that is reconised anywhere were very successful with many world titles and his name.
He will never be forgotten across the racing world as an example of EXACTLY WHAT A TEAM OWNER should be like.
Thank you for your smiles - they always helped - and now I know its time to say R.I.P Marc van der Straten (Race in Peace)

WSBK

But the Aussie in me has to move on to a great successful start to a weekend for Tayla Relph #28 (Mrs Collins) who at Donington was right up there in practice and is now on the 2nd row after SuperPole. Great Job - no, awesome after the beatings you have taken lately - You are getting a bit of help this weekend which will be welcome but your positivity is what drives you, and us who support you (Mr Collins ability to fix what you bend notwithstanding) Great Job and now I am not alone in Saying this - "all you have to do is get to Redgate first Tayla - simple right?" LOL
good luck - but you don't need that you need a great start and a bloody good slipstream and manic braking into the esses on the first two laps! ( we all know the euros think they own the place) - Big Shout out to Chloe Jones (https://chloejonesracing.co.uk/) Rootin for ya from Texas!
Oh and JR65 - I know his first few turns are gonna be nuts and it would be be great to see him and the Honda do something - and, of Course, Jake Dixon Racing
Bulega will be long gone but the podium beckons! Sorry just using
and of Course the fastest Texan out there - Garrett Gerloff and his team- go get them y'all

MotoGP
German GP - Marquez going left as usual so always fast but with all the Teamrider/Kangaroo-nomics in Full swing who knows who is coming second. And Jack miller through to Q2 - AWESOME
and the unbelievable news is that Morbidelli may stick around when folks like Brad Binder are being shown the door? Sorry, BUT the guy is a mobile road block and I hope after F up yet again he is put to the back of the grid or excluded for being slow and dangerous on the racing line- (how many times before he really hurts someone?
Good Luck to Joel Kelso - I realize he's on a new bike but stick it down the inside a few more times and bump a few folks - let them know you are there!!
and, of Course - you gotta be there ! https://www.facebook.com/ausmotogp/posts/a-win-for-the-agiussenna-agius-becomes-the-first-aussie-moto2-rider-to-ever-clai/1254233900079619/

Goodwood FOS

Awesome coverage this year and great to see the One and only John McGuinness being honored as the old guy in the field who is still laughing, loving life and is still FAST! Great to see fellow riders up there with him! (Josh brooks, Michael Dunlop MD Racing Michael Rutter etc)
Much better that they have a full live feed. Love the people who are having a whoopsie!
and great to see John Mcguiness extensive collection - and obviously Carl Fogarty still talking about losing at the TT and claiming that he was proud to be one of the first TT winners to go on a win a world championship, LOL err, Agostini? Mike Hailwood? - memory may be going mate.

So an Amazing weekend awaits!

hey we're back!

I don't think Balaton park qualifies as a GP circuit so i didn't bother talking about it - its a go cart track and just used to develop tourism - great win for Marquez but that was about it and we saw why Martin isn't gonna win the championship.

But Finally - a Real Track Brno!

Amazing Pole laps by half the field but topped finally by Ai Ogura #79 who showed exactly what he can do. Hope he gets a great start and shows that he can win! Aprilias all look strong with Diggia being the only Duke showing real pace - Bagnia looks happy but not fast and I think Marquez doesnt care about starting on the 2 nd row as he knows its a long run to the first turn - he'll be there
but
Will the Martin missile be the same into turn 1? he's down on the 3rd row so will be desperate to get to the front as usual - he just hasn't shown the real pace so far but hopefully he won't do a HOTHEAD manouvre
anyone can win as usual

American Racing Moto2 Team - finally Mr Joe Roberts racer and Filip Salač are showing great pace - lets hope they can both get on the front row but gonzalez and alonso look fast so we'll see.

Moto3 Fansite - Cmon Kelso - stick it on Pole! Oshea and O'gorman have a chance too - use the slipstream please
Lets see what happens - nothing
WHAT DON'T MOTO3 RIDERS UNDERSTAND ABOUT what being at a FAST TRACK MEANS = YOU MUST SLIPSTREAM - why don't they understand this - ???
Joel kelso 9th - outqualified by o'shea 6th

It was Motorcycle Racing Overload this weekend - AWESOME

- MotoGP from Mugello - Italian GP

Ride of the Day - When Eddie oShea hit the front for Mlav racing in the MotoGP Moto3 Fansite Race - all those champs must have thought - who the hell is that? cracking ride and a real shame that ya got duffed up but you stayed in the top ten - fine ride -

Moto 2 expected - wanted to see smoking Joe Roberts racer at the front but alas he just couldn't hook that thing up.

The the GP - result written in the stars - Italians had a good day - and Martin just cant say it - "I got beaten by the better rider today"
dream time for Aprilia. Good to see mark back and diggia was awesome - AGAIN. Ogura almost hit the box but it was fair that Bagnia finally got something. But close to ride of the day - Diego Moreira! holy cow!
new speed record - wonder what number engine they blew up to get that! - 230mph is very fast!
And the Baggers - Not bad - looking forward to seeing more scraps with Mad Dog.

The WorldSBK from Aragon

Another win and a record for Aruba.it Racing - Ducati - bit of a 1 horse race but - Nicola Bulega has shown he now has the fight to come back in a race regardless of where he is.
Shame the Texas ripper Garrett Gerloff couldn't hook it up and beat the Bimotas but he did his best - thats all we can ask.
The Supersport race was awesome as well as the new sportbike class - hope they allow the yamaha a bit more power to make it a real fight but the triumph looked solid - as they all did -
good move on bringing in that class - solid

No Womens WCR - but i think it may have been a Spainfest!

Then the TT

Big 3 as Expected but HRC - Honda Racing Corporation s Dean Harrison was in a league of his own. The belief that guy has shows every time he leaves the line. - Hickman and Dunlop were a small step above Josh brooks and John McGuiness who were still flying - cant wait for Brooks to get that great looking suzuki on the box!
we suffered sadness and injuries during Practice but I know that all those folks watching would have been saying - don't stop - let them go - and go they did!
Hoping for more great weather and to see Dean go faster on his superstocker.

Moto America from Road America

Great Track great racing and shout out to Kayla Yakov - she has to be one of the finest, fastest female riders in the world now and her first supersport win in not Far away. Great racing and America really stepped it up this weekend - well attended event too! - Track looked awesome - Possible MotoGP track? methinks so

so after all that - I am tired out - oh well gonna go jump on the MT09 and go for a spin - see ya next time

TT postponed for today - so it was back to Aragon for Superikes and Mugello for MGP - good Sprint win for Fernandez
Baggers were fun and mad dog McDonald was a true hero raicing his emotions - two trips to the box and led the first race for a while. If he doesn't get a Moto2 chance this season I will be amazed - he has definitely got what it takes!
Aragon was a Duke fest as usual
more tomorrow when TT will be back on hopefully...

Well Firstly - the Isle of Man Looked spectacular and it was great to hear the relaxed voices from all the competitors - actually going out in near perfect condition was a welcome change from last year.

Unfortunately, despite amazing early practice performances a shadow was to creep across the proceedings. There were a number of early crashes - irst one in parliament square sounded very nasty but thank fully people were not critically or fatally hurt - Good news.

But Now Daniel ingham - an experienced rider and winner of the Manx senior race - no small achievement - has lost his life doing what he loved to do. leaving behind a wife and Family is depressing and the only thing that will make sense is " your dad was a true hero - winning in Soul, passion skill and spirit - he will never be forgotten" Race in Peace Daniel Inham.

people seem to think its just a motorcycle race - Its Not.
it is one of the ultimate tests of Man and machine vs the old enemy - The Clock.
Having seen and ridden on the course - not raced - I was astounded at how much you have to remember and the physicality it must take to get around at over 100mph - never mind 136!
In the short time I was there I broke my bike TWICE and was helped by the mazing people that the Isle of Man calls locals.
so now when I hear people say "why do they have to build special bikes for the Isle of Man TT Races ?" - I know EXACTLY why - the sheer stress on my road bike was too much in 3 days!
The Island is not a Safe place for racing a motorcycle - it never will be - but thats why we do it, right?
You Can't think about the Danger - its about the amazing feeling you get when it feels right.
But then more bad news - Maria Costello and he passenger were badly injured with Maria still serious in Aintree Hospital.
But worse - Pioneers of the modern fastest outfit on the roads and Lap record holders - The Crowe Brother were seriously injured in another "lift off" accident. Sidecars have been evolving fast and even with restrictor plates this year they were going almost as fast (118) - Exciting but quite worrying too.
All the sidecar races have been suspended for this year - a hard, but good call because if this keeps going it is bound to end in more loss of life.
We all know this can be the end - but we take the risk - because we know that there is no better feeling on earth when it all works.
To all the people injured - please make a full and speedy recovery. We all know why you are there - you, and we, Love the Place and the amazing things it provides.
But
Sometimes it just bites back - its life and sometimes the big highs come with even Bigger Lows.
To all the sidecar crews who will head home - You are all heroes - just for showing up - my heart goes out to you on the injury of your friends and your long empty trek home.
But the Show will go on and I hope that it Can do safely - but as well all know - In racing - there really is no such thing
