🚫 🛠️ What Does a Heat Treatment for Bed Bugs Look Like? 🛠️ 🚫

Ever wonder what actually happens during a professional bed bug heat treatment? We captured some behind-the-scenes content from yesterday's job! Here is a quick look at the step-by-step process we use to get our clients a peaceful night's sleep again:

Step 1: Client Prep 📋 Before we even arrive, the homeowner does some heavy lifting by prepping the space—removing any aerosol products and candles, and stripping and washing linens on high heat.

Step 2: Thorough Inspection 🔍 Once on-site, we do a deep-dive inspection to locate all the primary hiding spots and map out our equipment setup. Once everything is set up, the generator is turned on, and everything is plugged in.

Step 3: Bringing the Heat 🔥 We bring in specialized heaters to raise the room temperature into the lethal "kill zone" of 120°F–135°F, which eliminates bed bugs and their eggs naturally. Raising the temperature slowly attracts the bugs to come out slowly, and they are killed once the room hits the kill zone.

Step 4: Flipping & Rotating 🔄 To ensure there are no cold spots, we actively move through the space—flipping mattresses and removing couch cushions so the heat penetrates every single crevice. This is also when the fans are set up in the rooms to ensure the hot air is moved to every crack.

Step 5: The Protective Barrier 🛡️ After the heat has done its job for about 2 hours, we apply a quick, professional application of Aprehend®. This provides a long-lasting barrier to ensure any stragglers are completely taken care of.

So sorry to hear the news about Charles Euton. He was a great guy. When we opened nearly 20 years ago he was one of the first realtors that gave us a shot. We’ve always appreciated him for doing that. He was a faithful guy that attended my church every Sunday. I always enjoyed our conversation at events. We would like to extend our condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Is it just us, or is the neighborhood getting a little "buzzy" lately? 🐝☀️

While we’re all out enjoying the sunshine and getting our gardens ready, some tiny "uninvited guests" are doing the exact same thing.

We’ve spotted a lot of Queen Wasps starting their "dream homes" (tiny nests) under porch railings and eaves this week. They look like little grey golf balls right now, but they grow fast!

Quick Neighborly Tip: Take a lap around your house today. Check those cozy corners and umbrella stands! Catching them now means a much more relaxing BBQ season for everyone later. 🍔✨
