Father's Day is for Fathers!

I would like you to meet Adam! Adam is my 13-year-old. I am the only father he has ever known. This is what Father's Day looks like to him.

When he was an infant I'd put him in baskets and take photos of him.

As he got a little bit older I'd find parks nearby lakes so that I could do photo shoots while he played.

When I got my sales job at Complete Weddings and Events. He'd fall asleep under my desk after school.

Those long office hours that my boss would take him home for dinner and bed because I had meetings.

He tags along to networking.

He goes to many coffee meetings.

He gets dressed up and goes with to every award Gala and speaking event.

As often as I can I sneak away from the grind so that I can take him to a beach, take him to a movie, celebrate his wins, Show him the world.

Just as often I feel like I'm failing. I feel like it's not good enough. I feel like I'm not good enough. I feel like I can't do it. Sometimes I forget that I am the only thing he has. That I am creating memories for him. I am teaching him morals, values, responsibilities, respect and work ethic. I teach him to chase his dreams. I teach him how to persevere. How to step into his unstoppable mindset.

Thank you to all of the fathers who are in their child's lives. You matter. And I love watching you do your thing. Remember that you are not replaceable. Happy Father's Day.

To everyone who has helped me raise my son. Thank you. Those short-lived relationships. My brothers. My mom. My dad. My family at complete weddings and events. I could not do this without you.

To every single moms and single dads. I believe in you. Keep going. Even when everything is fighting against you. I see you pulling double duty. Happy Father's Day.
