Your mulch could be doing more than making your landscaping look nice… 👀
Mulch helps retain moisture, which is great for plants, but it’s also attractive to many pests.
Ants, earwigs, centipedes, and other insects thrive in damp, protected environments. When mulch is piled directly against your home’s foundation, it can create the perfect hiding place right next to your house.
That doesn’t mean you need to get rid of your mulch.
It just means small landscaping decisions can make a big difference when it comes to pest prevention.
The more you understand what attracts pests, the better you can keep them from becoming a problem in the first place.
