This one’s a little different than what we usually see.

This home has a hydro-air system in the upper part of the house, so instead of insulating the flat ceiling area, we treated the kneewall slope with 2” rigid board to keep that space inside the home’s envelope.

In plain terms—it helps the system do its job without fighting cold air all winter / hot air in the summer!

The homeowner should notice more even temperatures and the system not having to work as hard to keep up

If you’ve got hot or cold spots, or equipment located above your living space, it’s probably worth a second look!

Ice dams don’t just “happen” there’s always a reason behind them.

In this home, heat was escaping through poorly insulated kneewall slopes, melting snow on the roof and creating major ice buildup.

We corrected the insulation and sealed everything up so the home holds heat where it should.
