I brought some branches pruned from our plum tree to show the children today. I let them smell and examine the flowers with their eyes and then with a magnifier. The kids said they smelled like honey and we talked about how the bees visit the flowers to pollinate and help form the fruits. The parts of the flower; stamen and pistils are easy to see with a hand lens. [ 144 more words. ]

2014 was an amazing year for Playful Nature! I changed the business name from Maria Hitt Consulting to Playful Nature Consulting. With the help of my artful friends, I developed spiffy new business cards. Best of all, I launched my website and this blog which has brought more business and followers. I currently have three childcare centers that I am working with on a regular basis (Spanish for Fun Academy in Chapel Hill - weekly and Kids R Kids in Cary and Morrisville - monthly).
