Hello everyone!

I am thrilled to announce that EssentiSoul Support, LLC is now open and accepting clients! My name is Essence Uke, and I am a clinician in training with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges and transitions. My specialty is Financial Therapy, a unique approach that addresses the emotional, behavioral, and psychological aspects of money and finances. Whether you're struggling with financial stress, money-related conflicts, or simply want to develop a healthier relationship with money, I'm here to help.

In addition to Financial Therapy, I also offer support for:

Grief and Loss: Helping you cope with and process the pain of losing a loved one.

Small Business Owner Spotlight with

BoatHer Life is a new up and coming lifestyle brand created by Antoinette aka Captain Peaches. The brand is geared towards ladies who appreciate the boat life culture, whether you own a boat or not.
Captain Peaches decided to buy a boat after the Covid pandemic forced everyone to stay inside. The water had always been a place of peace and freedom for her since childhood. Her grandma, Lula Mae, an avid fisherwoman, had introduced it to her at an early age. She found joy in being connected to the freedom the water provides. However, she wanted to personalize her experience, so BoatHer was born. In short, she wanted her boat to be pretty and different from the typical nautically themed boats she always saw. Since this would be her escape, it needed to represent her and feel like “home”. And she figured there were others who’d appreciate this choice as well.
BoatHer is an above average boater who’s equal parts sugar, spice, naughty, and nice. She likes her boat life experience unique and feminine from the decor to the attire. It is a vibe. It is a female empowerment movement. It’s a sisterhood!

I am LaShawn Bell. Born and raised in Detroit, MI. The 313.
35 years young and have been a resident here my whole life. I am a young individual who reflects a varied personality including Ambition, and the qualities of generosity and thoughtfulness.
I am also a well determined and vigorous individual, yet pleasantly calm. (7 kids) plus (5 blended) you get the point. I encourage fighting for what you desire and believe in, and with God because I have learned nothing great comes easy without him. God makes everything possible. You have to have faith in this thing we call life.
I am a full-time mother, motivated by situations as well as my children as I learn and succeed to be an outstanding and successful woman in todays society such as yourself. Meet Arlene Collins a event decorator/ event stylist, entrepreneur
and owner of Fab five event planning. She created her business in
2013 after previously helping her friend design and decorate her wedding. It was in that moment she knew that this was for her. When finally deciding to make her business legal, she struggled to come up with a name, it came to her, her work was fabulous and her mom had 5 girls. The Fab Five was a perfect
name that showcased her love for family and eye for event transformation.

When Arlene decided that this was the business for her she
immediately thought, this could be a way to open up doors for her
family to also build their businesses. She wanted this to be a family business and vessel for family wealth. Over the years it
has been a roller coaster ride, staying positive and keeping the
faith but she did it with all of her drive and prayers. One things for
sure, Arlene has always took pride in learning new techniques and
putting her all into each event as if it were her own.

Fast forward to 2021, Arlene is now able to move in her freedom
that she always hoped for. The dream was always to be able to sit
back and smell the roses. Although Fab five event planning is not
at its full potential, the path is definitely becoming more clear.
She is now able to step away from her 9 to 5 and focus more on
business growth. This year is all about transformation, finances, growth, teaching others and creating multi businesses.

Teeyana Thomas is an entrepreneur, business owner and an expert in tax preparation. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit it proved to be a catalyst for change in her career. She decided that the time was right to take a chance that she always dreamt of and use all her years of tax experience to go from an independent contractor to business owner. The result was Dreamy Tax Vision, her very own business where she now enjoys the flexibility of working for herself and being CEO of her own vision. That vision was always to become her own boss, make her own decisions and take her expertise as far as she could. Mostly, however, she just wanted to stop working for others and beat the endless cycle of being exploited by employers who did not value her skills.

Today, Teeyana lives with her wonderful husband Eric and their three children, Skylar, Myahna and Braylin. She always knew that being a busy mother meant that she would have to be as flexible as possible with her business but that hasn’t stopped her expanding. On June 10th, my son turned 18 years old. He was able to check his credit score for the first time and commence upon the next phase of his financial literacy for adulthood. His FICO score was 759. Yep, the day he turned 18, his credit score was higher than 59% of consumers. He was able to purchase a brand new 2021 vehicle in HIS name using HIS credit and savings.

He did not achieve the goal that many people seek to achieve haphazardly. Me and my husband, strategically put him in this position long before he knew its value. My goal now is to teach other parents—more specifically, parents of color—how to do the same.

I cannot stress to you enough, if you have a business (sole proprietorship, LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, or Non-Profit), 🗣GET A BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT!

You need to keep your your business finances COMPLETELY separate from your personal finances.

Just like with your personal credit, building credit for your business is all about RELATIONSHIP and BANKING HISTORY. Obtaining a D-U-N-S number is how that relationship and history is accurately reported.

Make sure you’re tracking your revenue and expenses ACCURATELY and EFFICIENTLY. You should be generating invoices for every sale you make (Cash App, Venmo, and Zelle requests are NOT invoices). You should also be able to produce a Profit Loss Statement at any given moment that accurately reflects your business’s performance.

Lastly, PERSONAL CREDIT ALWAYS COME FIRST. You can’t pursue credit for your business if your personal credit isn’t up to par. There are no cheat codes and you’ll only be cheating yourself.
