The 2023-2024 school year is quickly approaching, and we find ourselves preparing our children for the upcoming school year. Uniforms, supplies and other essentials are a major part of our preparation. This year, several school districts have implemented a mandatory policy requiring our children to only carry clear or mesh backpacks.

This mandate comes on the heels of multiple tragedies throughout our country of in-school violence. School Districts Nationwide are aware that requiring children to carry transparent backpacks is not a foolproof answer to this unnecessary violence in our schools and classrooms, it is however, one of several means implemented by which guns and weapons are more difficult to enter our schools.
