AI assistants are slowly becoming more than just chatbots.
Microsoft recently added a new feature to Copilot called Reminders, and it's another example of AI moving from answering questions to helping manage work.
The interesting part is that it's available even to free Copilot users.
You can simply tell Copilot things like:
โข Remind me to review our monthly reports next Monday at 8 AM
โข Remind me to follow up with a prospect tomorrow afternoon
โข Remind me every Friday to review open projects
Copilot understands natural language, so there's no need to create rules, schedules, or complicated workflows.
It also supports recurring reminders and can send notifications directly to your mobile device through the Copilot app.
For busy owners, partners, and managers, that's another small step toward reducing administrative friction.
Microsoft has also been adding features like chat summaries, pinned conversations, easier sharing, and learning tools. It's clear the goal is to make Copilot more of a personal assistant and less of a simple AI chatbot.
That said, I wouldn't replace your calendar, CRM, project management system, or other business-critical processes with AI reminders just yet.
For important deadlines, compliance requirements, client commitments, and operational tasks, your primary systems should still be your source of truth.
But as an additional layer for personal productivity?
It's worth a look.
The bigger trend is what interests me most.
AI isn't just helping us find information anymore. It's starting to help us organize, prioritize, and manage our day.
How comfortable would you be trusting AI to remind you about important tasks?
