Where does your extra solar power go? ⚡

On sunny days your panels often make more electricity than your home is using. That extra power doesn't go to waste — it flows back to the grid, and your utility credits you for it. It's called net metering, and Wisconsin utilities are required to offer it.

Think of the grid like a battery: you bank credits on sunny afternoons and draw on them at night or on cloudy days.

Another Sparta home taking control of its energy bills ☀️

The Clark project: a ground-mounted system generating about 16,300 kWh a year and offsetting 11.5 metric tons of CO₂ — like taking two cars off the road.

It features VSUN 500W bifacial panels (they capture sunlight from both sides) and Hoymiles microinverters, so every panel performs at its best even in partial shade.

Your library runs on sunshine — and now you can see it 📚☀️

We just built a public dashboard for the Sparta Free Library's 69.85 kW solar array: lydonsolar.com/spartalibrary

Through Sept 22, it's produced 28.45 MWh — that's 19.1 metric tons of CO₂ avoided, like 319 trees' worth of annual uptake. 💡 That's enough to power 3.7 Wisconsin homes for a year, or charge an EV 474 times.

The dashboard shows monthly production from its first months (May–Sept) — live connection is still pending, so these are recorded Hoymiles numbers through Sept 22.

New build in Sparta, powered by the sun from day one 🏡☀️

132 kW of clean power — right outside of Herrman Elementary in Sparta ☀️
