I read somewhere that creating while filming content takes 3–4 times longer than just creating on its own.

I fully believe it.

Most days my creative process looks a lot more like pajamas, coffee cups, scattered supplies, half-finished snacks, and me sitting cross-legged in complete chaos trying to remember where I put the scissors.

But apparently “feral crafting” isn’t quite the aesthetic people expect online 😜

So when I film a process, there’s suddenly lighting to think about, camera angles, moving supplies around, stopping to capture details, redoing steps because my hand was in the frame, and trying not to accidentally glue something to my t-shirt.

It’s funny because creating itself feels natural to me. Filming it feels like learning a second art form entirely.

Still… I love getting to share the process with you. Even if behind the scenes it’s usually a lot less polished and a lot more tiny creative tornado.

It’s just satisfying to see a collection of these little beauties all together🦋

Tiny stitched details.
Layered textures.
Little imperfect shapes.
Each one with its own personality.

I started making these because I wanted to explore combining needle felting and embroidery, but somewhere along the way they became tiny wearable/displayable pieces of joy.

And honestly? I think the world could use more tiny pieces of joy right now.

It’s my most requested class, but it gets the lowest number of participants 😳

I know why, though. It seems really intimidating. After all it combines at least 3 different techniques and it’s wholly abstract. BUT… you can’t mess it up!

What do I mean you can’t mess it up? It’s a completely intuitive process. Each step informs the next and you simply can’t get it “wrong”.

Your project is going to flow out of what you are feeling in the moment, and there isn’t a ‘wrong way’ to do it.

What I will teach in this workshop is how you can effectively lean into curiosity to create something uniquely yours, and a few important technique pieces that will give your finished piece enough structure to withstand time and gravity.
