It was fun to participate in a career fair for middle school students in the Spokane, Washington area. We look forward to when they grow older and can enter the work force and make our communities stronger.

This Labor Day, we pause to recognize the men and women who work hard every day to build, strengthen, and move America forward.

To the men and women of the construction and mining industries — thank you.

You build the roads we travel, the bridges that connect our communities, the buildings where we live and work, and you provide the essential resources that keep our nation moving.

Your work isn’t always in the spotlight. But every day, your hands, your equipment, your determination, and your sacrifice help provide the safe infrastructure and resources that make our way of life possible.

America was built by people willing to work hard, take on challenges, and get the job done — and that spirit is still alive in the men and women of our industry today.

So this Labor Day, we say thank you for what you do, for the pride you take in your work, and for the contribution you make to this great country.

Most importantly, take care of one another and be safe today and every day. The most important thing we build is a team that makes it home safely to their families.

Now that all our employees are off the job sites for the holiday, we hope you all have a great 250th, 4th of July!

It's not often, but when it happens, it deserves recognition! Today we celebrated "Scotty" for achieving his 50th work anniversary with N.A. Degerstrom, Inc. Scotty started working here on July 1, 1976. To put this into perspective, Scotty was with us before the Viking 1 Mars Landing, Jimmy Carter was elected President, the release of the first Star Wars movie, and Elvis Presley's passing.

When asked what his secret was, he said, "It's easy when you're working for a good company and with good people".

N.A. Degerstrom, Inc. was able to participate in the 2026 AEMA Summer Summit event, held in Spokane, Washington, this month, as an exhibitor with podium time. It's great to see the advancement of mining activities being improved across the country. Thank you, Carin Currier, for sharing photos of the event.

N.A. Degerstrom, Inc. was awarded the Spokane Chestnut Bridge Project. This project will improve the bridges' foundations, and we will install large-diameter riprap to prevent future erosion.

N.A. Degerstrom, Inc. was awarded the Hanson road overpass bridge removal project located in Moses Lake, Washington, last week! The current overpass is closed due to structural issues. We are happy to help facilitate this emergency project on I-90, so WSDOT can prepare for the new bridge structure.
