Clearwater Paper CEO Arsen Kitch now serves on the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Board of Directors, where decisions are made that shape how forests are managed, fiber is sourced and future talent is developed.

Arsen will represent the economic sector, sharing the perspective of a manufacturing company committed to responsible sourcing and sustainable production.

At Clearwater Paper, all our products use fiber from responsibly managed forests, including SFI®-certified sources, helping our customers meet their own sustainability goals.

For more than two decades, Clearwater Paper’s Lewiston site has had a special holiday tradition, thanks to one employee’s kindness, creativity and love for bringing joy to others.

Shelly Marek, a roll grinder operator who has been with Clearwater Paper for 26 years, hand‑crochets 150–250 festive pins every Christmas and gives them to coworkers across the mill.

As Shelly prepares to retire in 2026, this season’s pins carry even more meaning. Her tradition has created countless moments of connection and cheer, and it reflects what makes Clearwater Paper special: people who care for one another and strengthen the communities where we work and live.

Thank you, Shelly, for the joy you’ve shared for so many years.

Our Spokane headquarters team once again partnered with Tree of Sharing, a local nonprofit that provides holiday gifts to community members who might otherwise go without.

Through this program, employees selected wish‑list tags representing individuals across Spokane (from children to seniors to vulnerable adults) each with a simple request for something that would bring comfort or joy. For many recipients, this is the only gift they will receive during the holidays.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this giving tradition and to Tree of Sharing for the important work they do year after year.
