For more than two decades, Clearwater Paper’s Lewiston site has had a special holiday tradition, thanks to one employee’s kindness, creativity and love for bringing joy to others.
Shelly Marek, a roll grinder operator who has been with Clearwater Paper for 26 years, hand‑crochets 150–250 festive pins every Christmas and gives them to coworkers across the mill.
As Shelly prepares to retire in 2026, this season’s pins carry even more meaning. Her tradition has created countless moments of connection and cheer, and it reflects what makes Clearwater Paper special: people who care for one another and strengthen the communities where we work and live.
