Before we design anything, we read the land. 🏔️

Topography, drainage patterns, soil conditions, sun angles, prevailing winds, and existing vegetation all tell a story about how a site wants to function.

Skipping that step leads to designs that conters the environment rather than working with it.

Sites that teach us most are always challenging. They push the design further and produce something that could only exist in that exact place. 💙

Not just what they want the space to look like, but how they entertain, how their kids use the yard, where they take their morning coffee, and what they see from the kitchen window.

October is when the Pacific Northwest earns its reputation. 🍂

Color moves across tree canopies, grasses catch afternoon light differently, and the landscape character shifts into something quieter; equally as beautiful.

Some of the most valuable work we do never makes it into a single photograph. 📐

Master planning is about seeing a site not as it is today, but as it could be over the next ten, twenty, or thirty years.

Phasing, infrastructure, circulation, land use, these decisions made early shape everything that comes after them.

Getting the big picture right is what allows every detail to land in the right place. 💙

Fall is offically arriving and landscapes feel it first. 🍂

Color starts moving through the canopy, grasses catch the low afternoon light differently, and the energy of a space shifts from summer's peak to something quieter and just as beautiful.

Twenty-five years ago, our country changed in ways that still shape who we are and how we show up for one another.

We honor those we lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families who have carried that grief ever since.
