SCAN - Support Care and Networking "Keeping children safe from abuse and neglect through education, training, and mentoring"

SCAN is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency that has been serving children and families in Eastern Washington since 1973. SCAN was the first child abuse prevention agency in Washington and the second nationally. Since then, SCAN has been advocating on behalf of children and youth in vulnerable populations by helping educate families to provide permanent, safe, and nurturing homes. The mission at SCAN is “k

eeping children safe from abuse and neglect through education, training, and mentoring”. To fulfill this mission, SCAN serves 250 families per month through programs that help reunite and strengthen families by providing individual and group counseling and parenting education, monitored visitation and reunification of parents with their children, and fatherhood support and training programs.
